SHIVER - ''Displaying and reading time in the 22nd Century''

 HEAD – Genève
Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie - Time design exhibition
2022

"Shiver" is a fictional project developed during a competition organised by the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie in partnership with HEAD – Geneva.

In a world where time so often feels dictated by an imposed rhythm, this project offers a new approach: giving everyone the freedom to master their own sense of time.

Inspired by the Mimosa pudica, a plant that folds in response to touch, the Shiver fabric reimagines the way time is displayed. Using micro-sensors connected to a smartphone, the time appears at the touch of a hand. Like a shiver, the fibres of the fabric contract, then return to their original form within seconds, creating a subtle and fleeting play of light. This fluid and poetic approach re-establishes a personal connection to time, free from external constraints, while offering a delicate sensory experience through the fabric's silky texture.
